VYPE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES THE 2024 SHELTER INSURANCE MISS SOFTBALL AWARD WINNER: ALLYSSA PARKER FROM POCOLA HIGH SCHOOL

TULSA, OK (January 1st, 2025) – VYPE Magazine and Shelter Insurance are proud to announce the winner of the Miss Softball Oklahoma Award, Allyssa Parker of Pocola High School. Parker becomes the seventh player to win the coveted award and the first Miss Softball Oklahoma to represent Pocola High School.

The Shelter Insurance Miss Softball Oklahoma Award recognizes the outstanding athletic achievements of Allyssa Parker and the high standards of athletic excellence and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, which distinguishes Parker as Oklahoma’s best high school softball player this season.

Parker finished a great season with Pocola High School by helping her team to a 34-1 record and a No. 2 ranking in Class 2A and a trip to the state finals. Under the leadership and guidance of head coach Eddie Combs, Parker led her team to an outstanding season and was recognized for her efforts by being selected for the 2024 Small East All-State team.

This season from the circle, Parker finished the season with a record of 28-1. In 134 innings pitched, Parker carried an ERA of .104, which is the lowest in the state. She also has the lowest BAA at .097 which is the best in Oklahoma. Parker is committed to play for the University of Oklahoma next fall for the Lady Sooners.

VYPE Magazine Editorial Director Brad Heath said of Parker, “When Parker is in the circle, you expect a win. Her command of the strike zone and her ability to overpower or finesse batters separates her from her peers. It’s easy to see why the Sooners want her on their team. Everyone at VYPE Magazine and Shelter Insurance would like to congratulate Allyssa Parker on winning the Shelter Insurance Miss Softball Oklahoma Award.”

Parker joins former Miss Softball award winners; Kenzie Donihoo of Mustang (2018), Chloe Bohuslavicky of Piedmont (2019), Grace Anderson of Tishomingo (2020), Gabby Higbee of Dewey (2021), September Flanagan of Morrison (2022), and Serenity Jacoway of Tecumseh.
