VYPE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES THE 2020-21 SHELTER INSURANCE MISS WRESTLING AWARD WINNER: OLIVIA BROWN FROM BROKEN ARROW
The Shelter Insurance Miss Wrestling Oklahoma Award recognizes the outstanding athletic achievements of Olivia Brown and the high standards of athletic excellence and exemplary character demonstrated on the mat, which distinguishes Brown as Oklahoma’s best high school female wrestler this season.
Brown finished the season 17-0, winning the state title at 215-pounds. The win marked the second state title for Brown during her high school career. Broken Arrow girls wrestling head coach Cassidy Jasperson led the Tigers to a team title this season with Brown leading the way. Brown finished her career with a record of 132-9 and is ranked No. 2 nationally. Brown won the Cadet Nationals in her freshman and sophomore seasons. She has signed with Grand View University in Iowa.
VYPE Magazine Editorial Director Brad Heath said of Brown, “In the second year of girls wrestling being recognized as a legitimate sport in Oklahoma, Brown has proven she is the top female wrestler in the state. Her two state titles prove she is as dominant as they come on the mat. I have no doubt she could have been a four-time state champion.”
Congratulations to Olivia Brown of Broken Arrow, the first ever – 2020-21 Miss Wrestling Oklahoma.
